What the patch does

Unlike the MS43X version, this one needs no custom firmware: it sits directly on the stock 430069 software. The patch places two additional calibration sets in the free flash and hooks into the firmware’s accesses. Slot 1 stays untouched — exactly the calibration the file arrived with, your risk-free way back. Slots 2 and 3 start as copies of it and are calibrated by you in TunerPro.

The three slots

Slot 1

Stock / fallback

Unchanged: the calibration you uploaded. After flashing, the car drives exactly as it did before.

Slot 2

Stage 1

Starts as a copy of slot 1. Your everyday setting — overrun, ignition and injection all freely calibratable.

Slot 3

Stage 2

A second free set. Typically the loud overrun setting, or a gentle one with ignition pulled back.

Switchable per slot

 • Overrun cut-off rpm — separately with the A/C switched on
 • Overrun ignition (ip_iga_pu) — the basis for pops and bangs
 • Ignition during overrun cut (ip_iga_puc)
 • Full-load injection time, bank 1 and bank 2 separately
 • Full-load ignition — RON91 and RON98 separately
 • Overrun VANOS targets, intake and exhaust, two temperature ranges
 • Rev limiter hysteresis (c_n_max_hys, c_n_max_hys_max)
 • Overrun cut delay with the car standing still

What you need

Please read this before buying. If one of these requirements is not met, the check will reject your file.
 • Original files only, exactly as the ECU left the factory: no tuning and no added patches. EWS-off, and launch control and ignition cut from the community patch list, are allowed.
 • It must be a fresh full read from your own car, complete and including the bootloader section. A partial read without that section is not enough.
 • No bins from the internet. Files from MS4X, forums, collections or file swaps are not supported — they come from a different vehicle, are often already modified, and will not work on your ECU.
 • An MS4x tool to correct the checksum and write the full flash — the shop deliberately does not calculate the checksum.
 • TunerPro to calibrate slots 2 and 3.

Questions about this product

How do I switch slots in the car?

Only while stationary with the engine off and the ignition on. Press and hold the brake for about five seconds — the tachometer needle jumps to the active slot, showing the switch is armed. Release the brake, then blip the throttle: that steps one slot further, 1000 rpm = slot 1, 2000 = slot 2, 3000 = slot 3. Pressing the brake again confirms; after about half a minute without input it ends by itself. Hold time, pedal thresholds and feedback speeds are parameters in the XDF.

What is the difference to the MS43X version?

This one runs on the stock firmware — you do not need to flash a custom firmware first. In exchange the switchable set is different: it focuses on overrun and pops maps, full-load ignition and injection, and overrun VANOS. There is no boost or launch control here — the stock software simply does not have them.

Are the slots named the same in TunerPro?

Not quite: in the XDF they are labelled Stufe 0, Stufe 1 and Stufe 2 (German for stage). Slot 1 is Stufe 0, slot 2 is Stufe 1, slot 3 is Stufe 2 — the order and the tachometer feedback are identical. The readme in your download says so too.

Why does the file have to be stock?

The patch identifies the stock software by fixed byte patterns and writes into areas that are empty in stock files. An existing tune or another map switch has changed both. The check rejects such files rather than quietly overwriting something — that would be the shortest path to a dead ECU.

Why does slot 1 stay unchanged?

So there is always a state in which the car runs on exactly the calibration it had before flashing. New calibrations belong in slot 2 or 3; switching back works while stationary, without flashing.

Can I pass the file on to a friend?

No. Every file is created for exactly one vehicle and only runs there. A second car needs a second purchase.

Does the shop calculate the checksum?

No, deliberately not. The bin leaves the shop uncorrected; you fix the checksum with the MS4x tool you also flash with.

What does an update cost?

Nothing. Simply upload your bin again: the shop recognises you and releases the download without payment.
